The act of living in Zimbabwe is something of a gamble at the current time, so you may think that there might be very little desire for visiting Zimbabwe’s casinos. In fact, it seems to be operating the opposite way, with the atrocious economic conditions creating a larger desire to wager, to try and discover a fast win, a way out of the difficulty.

For nearly all of the citizens surviving on the tiny local earnings, there are 2 established styles of gaming, the national lottery and Zimbet. Just as with most everywhere else on the planet, there is a state lotto where the chances of winning are unbelievably low, but then the prizes are also unbelievably high. It’s been said by market analysts who study the subject that many don’t purchase a card with a real assumption of hitting. Zimbet is based on either the domestic or the British football divisions and involves predicting the outcomes of future matches.

Zimbabwe’s casinos, on the other foot, mollycoddle the considerably rich of the society and tourists. Until a short while ago, there was a very big vacationing business, based on nature trips and visits to Victoria Falls. The economic woes and associated conflict have cut into this trade.

Among Zimbabwe’s gambling dens, there are 2 in the capital, Harare, the Carribea Bay Resort and Casino, which has five gaming tables and slot machines, and the Plumtree gambling hall, which has only slot machines. The Zambesi Valley Hotel and Entertainment Center in Kariba also has only slot machines. Mutare has the Monclair Hotel and Casino and the Leopard Rock Hotel and Casino, the pair of which contain table games, one armed bandits and video machines, and Victoria Falls has the Elephant Hills Hotel and Casino and the Makasa Sun Hotel and Casino, the pair of which offer slot machines and blackjack, roulette, and craps tables.

In addition to Zimbabwe’s gambling halls and the previously talked about lottery and Zimbet (which is very like a pools system), there are a total of two horse racing complexes in the state: the Matabeleland Turf Club in Bulawayo (the 2nd municipality) and the Borrowdale Park in Harare.

Since the economy has contracted by more than forty percent in the past few years and with the associated poverty and crime that has come about, it isn’t understood how healthy the tourist business which is the backbone of Zimbabwe’s casinos will do in the near future. How many of them will survive till things get better is simply unknown.
